This 6 day mobile tented safari tour will take you to the Okavango Delta and the adjacent Moremi Game Reserve.
The Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s most famous destinations. There are several private reserves in the delta, one being the Moremi Game Reserve. This is a true wilderness experience, with excellent wildlife viewing and stunning scenery. Walking safaris and mokoro (dugout canoe) trips are a welcome change to the usual game drives.
The Okavango Delta is home to a huge number of herbivores which attracts the carnivores like lion, hyena and leopard.
Wildlife viewing is superb, with abundant hippo, elephant and buffalo but the most common swamp-adapted animal is the rare red lechwe that can be seen wading through the water in large herds. The semi-aquatic sitatunga is harder to find. Other unusual antelope include tsessebe, sable and roan.
Moremi Game Reserve is contained within an area of approximately 3900 sq kms. Here land and Delta meet to create an exceedingly picturesque preserve of floodplains – either seasonally or perennially wet with waterways, lagoons, pools, pans, grasslands and riparian, riverine and mopane forests.
This makes for spectacular game viewing and bird watching, including all major, naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered. Savannah game includes lion, elephant, antelope and buffalo, and the thickly wooded areas are home to wild dog and leopard. All Big Five are present and game viewing is excellent all year round. Four of the Big Five are easily seen. Both black and white rhino have been reintroduced, but sightings remain rare.
It is because of the bold, local Batawana people that this area was proclaimed Moremi Game Reserve in 1963, making Moremi the oldest and first protected reserve of the Okavango Delta.
The Okavango Delta has seasonal wildlife viewing. The best time to visit is in the dry months, from July to October, as there is an influx of animals gathering at the delta. During the wet months, from January to March, many areas become inaccessible, and some lodges close down.
The Okavango Delta and adjacent Moremi GR is a prime area for wild dog, which are most easily observed while denning between June and September.
Our vehicles are fully equipped and safety certified, carrying all recovery, fire and first aid supplies, with open sides for enhanced game viewing.

Most meals are served around the campfire or as a packed meal if we are in transit. Typically meat, vegetables, bread and salads are served in the evenings.
Please inform us of any dietary requirements or food allergies at the time of booking to enable us to adequately prepare.
We are not unfortunately able to cater for Halaal or Kosher meals.
Due to ever changing circumstances relating to disease, we suggest you seek advice prior to your tour as to what vaccinations are required.
Please bring all mediactions of a personal nature with you. We will be in remote areas where these things are not readily available.
We strongly suggest taking anti malaria medications, especially in the wet seasons and to use mosquito repellent whilst on safari. Please consult your doctor regarding anti malaria medication.
As we mostly camp in unfenced wilderness areas, there is always the possibility to encounter dangerous animals. Never panic when in proximity of wild animals. Remain calm and still. Most of the areas are well traveled and the animals are accustomed to humans.
Never leave your tent at night and be sure to not leave any personal belongings outside your tent (hyenas love shoes!)
